Al-Anon and Alateen Literature
Al-Anon has a Conference Approval process to adopt new literature. Conference approved literature can be indentified by a special logo located on the inside copyright page of a book. It has the words World, Service, Conference within a triangle. This process guarantees the fellowship that the material is an expression of Al-Anon principles. There are also Service Tools which may take the form of pamphlets, booklets, etc. These are developed by staff or committees and are subject to a different approval process than CAL.

There are several ways that Al-Anon members, the public and health
professionals can obtain Al-Anon/Alateen literature. MEETINGS: Most Al-Anon and Alateen meetings have Al-Anon and Alateen
literature available. They may sell the literature or ask for a donation,
usually at the price they paid for it. Many meetings have a Literature
Coordinator. So if you don't see something you want, ask if the Coordinator can
get it for you. To see what's available, you can use this
literature list. LITERATURE DISTRIBUTION CENTER: Many Al-Anon and Alateen groups staff local
centers where literature may be purchased. Some will also accept phone, FAX, or
mail orders. They may be able to mail your order to you. The hours vary
for the centers and some may consist of only one person. Visit the

Literature Distribution Centers can help defray the cost of shipping literature since
they typically buy in larger quantities.
